Respect is building a new national Centre for Excellence – bringing together data, evidence, practice expertise and lived experience, to create a step change in addressing the perpetration of domestic abuse. It will address the critical gaps that remain in the provision of response to perpetrators, despite longstanding work to address domestic abuse.
The Centre for Excellence will drive policy reform through evidence-based research and analysis, accelerate innovation and best practice with sector-wide collaboration, and bring the voices of victims and survivors to the fore of shaping solutions.
This new initiative is a central part of Respect’s 2023–2028 strategy, Stopping the Harm, and will drive two key outcomes:
- Improved practice in the development and delivery of safe, effective perpetrator responses,
- Enhanced policymaking and commissioning informed by data, evidence, research, and best practice.
With early funding secured, we're building a new team, and developing an ambitious programme of work to collaboratively shift the dial on what works to end the perpetration of domestic abuse.
For more information, take a look at our Case for Support and Theory of Change. We would love to talk to potential funding partners, as well as collaborators in research, data and evidence.
We're also currently recruiting a Head of Centre for Excellence to help shape and deliver this pioneering initiative. Find out more information in the job listing.
Please get in touch with Deputy CEO Lee Webster if you would like to have a conversation about the project: [email protected].
Look out for further updates on this page as the Centre for Excellence develops.
