Tara is Triage Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) at Respect UK, where she plays a key role in providing initial support and safety assessments for individuals at risk of domestic abuse. Her work focuses on offering survivors a compassionate, non-judgmental space to discuss their experiences, ensure their immediate safety, and connect them to the resources they need.

At Respect, she also works to hold perpetrators accountable for their behaviour, supporting individuals in addressing and taking responsibility for their actions while working towards behaviour change. This crucial aspect of the role allows Tara to contribute to breaking the cycle of abuse and promoting long-term safety for both survivors and communities.

Prior to joining Respect, Tara served as an IDVA with Solace Women’s Aid and a Stalking Advocate with Suzy Lamplugh Trust, where she supported people affected by domestic abuse, stalking, and harassment. These roles strengthened her expertise in risk assessment, safety planning, and multi-agency collaboration. Tara is deeply committed to a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach and advocate for meaningful, systemic change to better support those affected by abuse.
